RIGHTS RESPECTING SCHOOLS

Yr 4 have been constructing bar charts from Smarties. Everyone one resisted the temptation to sample some of the bar chart elements - but it was very tough! When we finished our bar charts we got to eat the Smarties.
🥦 HARVEST ASSEMBLY 🌽
Today at our Harvest Assembly Luke and Ollie told us the story of Daniel.
We also learned about the word Harvest which is thought to be an Anglo Saxon term, Haer Fest. In Rome harvest was the Lude Cereales after Ceres, the Roman God of Plants 🌱, hence we have cereals. And in Ireland we had the ancient celebration of Lammas, which we still have in Ballycastle today.
From the book of Leviticus we learned that at harvest time farmers were to leave the crops at the edge of their fields for folk who were in need to pick.
Today we helped folk who are in need through all the tinned food we donated to a local foodbank.
We have a brilliant squad of Highland Dancers in Moneyrea on Thursday evenings.
