CONGRATULATIONS 🎉 YR5
Lydia and Emma, along with their Yr5 classmates became Climate Heroes today when they were awarded their Blue Peter Green Badge.
Together the girls organised litter picks, planted 🌱 vegetables and made sure we were all reducing energy by turning off electrical devices when not in use. They also encouraged classmates to drink from reusable plastic water 💦 bottles, recycle plastic containers and compost food 🥘 waste. Well done everyone!

Dear parents,
On 7 June I notified parents groups that Mrs Goudy had resigned her Yr6 job-share post.
At the same time I shared that Mr Skimin, who had been covering the Yr6 class, had been appointed VP at Comber PS.
Subsequently, the governors have moved quickly to appoint a new Yr6 teacher.
Mr Chris Brady was appointed on Thursday evening and, all things being equal, will take up his new post at Moneyrea at the start of next term, or shortly thereafter.
We are extremely sorry to be losing Mrs Goudy, who has been a great friend to our school family over the last seven years.
Rachel is a talented teacher and has put her expertise in Art and ICT to good use supporting her colleagues and developing our children’s skills.
Rachel was always willing to lend a hand, wherever help was required. She was also ready, willing and able to throw her hat in the ring at PTA events and was a valued member of staff on our annual Yr7 residential to Loch Insh.
We all, governors, staff, parents and pupils wish Mrs Goudy every blessing in her future pathways, in full confidence that her many talents and big personality will open many new avenues for her to pursue.
We are pleased that Mrs Goudy will be teaching in Year 6 for the next three days which will give us a chance to say goodbye in person.
Today we said a fond but sad farewell to our gymnastics coach of 15 years, Laura Hutchinson.
Laura is an absolute gem and so many Moneyrea pupils have benefited from Laura’s coaching. Just amazing!
Thank you Laura and we wish you every blessing in your new venture... au revoir x
The FAMILY 1000 is the annual charity fundraiser organised by our Yr7 pupils. They are asking all of our families to walk/run/scoot/cycle during the week commencing the 21 June.
Set your own family target and raise sponsorship among your friends and family.
The children have set a combined school target of 1000 miles exercise and £1000 to raise. They will send home a sponsor sheet to help with your fundraising.
You can donate the money you raise using this GO FUND ME link, or you may send donations directly to the school office.
https://www.gofundme.com/f/yr7-family-1000-fundraiser...
The funds raised will be split equally between CANCER FOCUS NI and the Indian Covid-19 Crisis Appeal (via UNICEF)
Simply do what you can and clock your family mileage via Facebook messenger.
We would also love to receive photos of your travels to share with the school community.
Year 7 thank you for your support.
Today we welcomed new Education Minister, Michelle McIlveen to open our new playspace.
The new play equipment replaces our old trim trail and will be an excellent addition for our children.
The new play frame and gym equipment were paid for from school funds, PTA fundraising and a donation from a private company.
The installation and soft surfacing was paid for by the Education Authorities and overseen by Donal Royanne (EA).
The school is grateful to DAC Contracts for their fantastic work on the install and Lynsey McCloskey from Wicksteed.
Our Year 7s and Yr 4s certainly enjoyed the opportunity to trial the new equipment.
