Primary 6 enjoyed a morning printing and crafting ceramic leaves with artist Andrea McCullough-Alderdice from the Island-Arts Centre. As part of topic work on Northern Ireland they have been learning about local tree species.
It was a great to have Andrea visit and share her knowledge and skills with us. P6 enjoyed the new experience of using kiln fired clay, very different from the “grey lumpy stuff” (air drying clay) that they have used previously. Look out for their ceramic masterpieces fresh out of the kiln in a few weeks time!
A team of twelve Yr 6 and Yr 7 pupils from Moneyrea took part in the first round of Flahavan's Cross Country League at Henry James Playing Fields, Castlereagh on Tuesday 8th October.
Both the boys and girls team put in a brilliant performance, with the boys finishing in fifth place out of thirteen schools and the girls finishing in seventh place. We are really looking forward to Round Two in December.
