• Downshire Festival of Rugby

  Our boys enjoyed a fantastic afternoon of rugby at Downshire PS winning four games against Inchmarlo, Downshire, Ballymacash and Friends and drawing against Strandtown. Well done boys on five fantastic performances. 
  Big thank you to Downshire and Mr Graham for organising this event and to AK for helping with transport.

  Congratulations to former Moneyrea pupil, Ben Gourley who played at No. 5 today for Methodist College and scored their first try and to winning coach, Nick Wells.

  

• Moneyrea Wins Mayor's Award for Making a Difference

  We are delighted to have received an award from Mayor Uel Mackin at a recent award ceremony at La Mon Hotel.

  This award acknowledges the fact that Moneyrea staff, teaching and non-teaching, our Governors and PTA go the extra mile to create learning, challenge and fun for all our pupils.

  We are delighted to have their fantastic work acknowledged in this way.

  

• Erasmus Visit to Stormont

  Our Yr7s and 13 pupils from Spain, Italy, Poland and Greece, along with their teachers visited the Legislative Assembly at Stormont. Special thanks to Lucy for her fantastic workshop. The children enjoyed debating in the chamber about school uniform and voting in the lobbies. (“Out of the mouths of babes”)

• Football Victory

  Our A and B teams played against local schools this afternoon and won both of their matches. Fantastic work from the two teams!

  Our B Team had a comfortable win against Leadhill PS.

  Our A Team won 7-5 against Loughview PS.
