Keep up to date with all the news happening in school at the moment!
Moneyrea PTA Christmas Fayre is taking place at 2pm on Friday 7th December in Moneyrea Community Centre.
Set up begins at 9.00am on the 7th. If you can help out, please contact Nicola or Debbie.
Please note: school finishes at 1.55pm on the 7th and all pupils will assemble outside the Community Centre to await Santa’s arrival. We hope Santa will arrive at 2.00pm and the sale commences in the main hall when Santa makes his way to his Grotto. To ease congestion, we will be entering the main hall via the emergency exit doors and not the main entrance. There will be opportunity for the children to visit Santa (£3) and to have their face and nails painted, tattoos etc. Santa’s Grotto will be upstairs and tea and coffee will be available in the conference room down stairs.
After School Club is available in school. Permission must be received for ASC leaders to take ASC children to the Christmas Fayre
Please look at the fantastic prizes in the Christmas Ballot. We will be sending home tickets with each child which are priced at £1 each or 6 for £5, if you require any additional sheets please contact the office. If you are able to add to this please contact Debbie. The draw will take place on 21st December.

This week in school we have been taking part in anti-bullying week. Each class has enjoyed a range of activities and in assembly on Friday Yr 5 performed a song to teach us about RESPECT.

Applying for Primary 1 and Nursery for the 2019/2020 school year?
The way in which parents apply for Primary 1 and Nursery places is changing.
Online applications are being introduced by the Education Authority for admission to Primary 1 and Nursery for children enrolling for September 2019.
A new portal for parents to apply online for a place has been created and it will allow parents to list their school preferences.
Parents will have the opportunity to amend their submitted application until the closing date. This replaces the current paper based application form.
Parents will continue to be required to provide their child’s birth certificate and any other verifying documents stipulated in admission criteria directly to the first preference school or nursery.
The Go Live date for the new digital admissions is Wednesday 2 January 2019 at 10.00am.
The closing time and date for punctual applications will be 12.00 midnight on Thursday 31 January 2019.
The EA is planning to provide Assisted Digital Support for parents and users of the new system. This will be in the form of a new telephone service, enhanced website content and a number of face-to-face drop-in clinics held in EA offices and other locations during January 2019. Details of the planned digital assistance will be provided in due course.
Please check the EA website, https://www.eani.org.uk/parents/admissions for updates on how to apply for a place, key dates in the admissions procedure and schools’ admissions criteria for September 2019/2020 school year.
We, at Moneyrea Primary and Nursery, will publish this information as soon as it becomes available.
The Asda bag pack raised £628. The money raised will help replenish our reading scheme and go towards the creation of an outdoor gym at our school.
Thanks to everyone who manned the tills and gave up their time to help our school.
Thank you to the 1000+ customers who contributed and to the management and cashiers at ASDA Newtownards for their support.
