  • HUDDLESTON COMPETITION

    Wed 26 Mar 2014
We are holding a poetry writing competition for our Year 4 - 7 pupils to celebrate the bicenteenary of the birth of Moneyrea poet, Robert Huddleston.

The theme for the poetry competition is the countryside. Poems must be the original work of the children and the closing date for entries is Friday 4th April.

Judging will take place over the next few days and the winner will be announced before Friday the 11th.

First prize is an amazing iPad Mini. Happy scribing!

Below are photographs of his house, workshop and lane, his granddaughter Bessie, one of his poems, the school in Moneyrea (the cherry tree in the church grounds is where this school once stood, a street bowl (bullet) and his headstone.

  • Gala Ball Raises £4700

    Mon 10 Mar 2014
Our PTA, New York, New York Gala Ball on Friday night at La Mon Hotel raised a fantastic £4700 for the school. The money will go towards the purchase of additional iPads for use throughout the school.

The evening was a fantastic success and I would like to thank everyone who supported this fundraiser and in particular Karen Hamilton for coordinating the whole event.

Check out photos on our Gallery and PTA Page.
