The Yr4 children enjoyed hot chocolate whilst watching the film, ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as part of our Literacy topic.
Now we're going to compare the book and the film to discuss similarities and differences.
Our Yr6 class had a great time today at the Ulster Badminton Festival in Lisburn. We played some games, improved our badminton skills and took part in some group activities and discussions. Thanks again Ulster Badminton!
Well yes and no!
Storm β Barra is not responsible for this carnage.
Our outdoor classroom, which we reclaimed when Newtownbreda PS closed is having a complete makeover.
The rotting timbers are being replaced and Perspex windows will provide a little more shelter.
In addition, the classroom will be turned through 90 degrees to face into the ECO Garden.
We are grateful to Scotty Lupton of SWL Joinery for completing this work and grant funding from the Rural Pollinator Grant Scheme.
π πΌ SANTA WALK π πΌ for π πΌCHARITY π πΌ
Our children will be completing a one mile Santa Walk around the school and community centre on Friday morning to raise funds for this year’s chosen charity …
‘The Warm and Well Christmas Project’
Our fundraiser will raise money to help vulnerable families and senior citizens, who may find themselves unable to heat their homes this winter.
Our target is to raise £1000 and all donations large or small or will be gratefully received.
To make the event a little more festive we are asking the children to come to school and nursery on Friday in Christmas attire; bobble hats, scarves, gloves, Christmas jumpers, Santa hats, antlers, tinsel etc.
The more festive the better!
No one in Northern Ireland should have to choose between heat and presents or hot water and turkey.
Please help us make a difference this Christmas.

With the final transfer test out of the way our Yr7s were able to celebrate all their hard work on Saturday night with a Christmas disco organised by their mums and dads in the Community Centre.
A huge thank you to Stephen and the chefs at The Auld House for the amazing food, Andrew Girvan for the ice cream, Pickup a Treat's cupcakes, John Ellis for the DJ entertainment, Ian Pedlow Photography, Rory and Luke from Moneyreagh Community Church for helping decorate the hall, Marlene at the Community Centre for hosting and Sadie Shanks McMaster for the balloons.
