  • Helping Belfast's Homeless this Christmas

    Sun 06 Dec 2020

This Christmas we are unable to hold our normal Christmas Nativities and Carol Service. However, the children and staff have been working hard to save the day and each class will present a short Christmas video on this Facebook page and on our website in the week leading up to Christmas.

Normally we have used our Christmas events to raise money for a local charity. Last year we raised over £1000 for the May Murray Foundation.

So in keeping with our tradition, this Christmas we are asking for donations to the WELCOME ORGANISATION.

The Welcome Organisation is based in Belfast and works with one of society's most vulnerable groups, the homeless. We cannot begin to imagine the mental and physical trauma such folk live with day and daily come hail, rain or shine.

This year we can make a difference by supporting the Welcome Organisation as its volunteers and employees work with broken people, suffering from mental illness, chronic health problems, debt, family breakdown, unemployment, drug addiction, alcoholism and the multiple issues that coincide with living on the streets.

Please send your donations in an envelope marked 'WELCOME'.

Additionally, the Welcome Organisation is asking for donations of NEW CLOTHING.

Each class has a large Christmas Sack ready to receive donations of:

    Socks (male and female)

    Underwear (male and female)

Jogging bottoms/tracksuit bottoms (male and female)

    T-shirts and jumpers (male)

Sleeping bags - Preferably season 4

    Warm/waterproof coats

Please note - they are currently unable to accept donations of any other clothing items.

Thank you in anticipation of your kind and generous support.

  • Heartfelt Condolences

    Wed 02 Dec 2020

The school family at Moneyrea send their heartfelt love and prayers to their dear friend and colleague, Debbie Carson on the passing of her ‘special, gentle dad’, Norman Manderson on Monday morning.

We also send our condolences to the family circle: Debbie’s husband Mark; Norman’s brother Billy and sister Noreen; to grandchildren, Gary and Suzanne, Ashley and Eamon, Rachel and Craig, and Emma; and great grandchildren, Kate and Jess.

We know this is a difficult time for you all and we want you to know that we all feel your hurt and loss.

On a lighter note, I know Debbie will not be happy that I’ve posted her staff photo 😐. I guess I’ll just have to face the music.

Psalm 121 is a wonderful scripture for all who find themselves shaken in life.

  • Santa’s Little Helpers

    Tue 01 Dec 2020

    Santa’s Little Helpers

Our Year 1s have been thinking about how we enjoy lots of good things to eat at Christmas 🎄 but other children have very little.

They decided to do something to help by wrapping, decorating and selling chocolate 🍫 bars to raise money for the Foodshare charity which supports four local foodbanks.

And Santa’s little elves did such a fantastic job selling over 200 bars and raising an amazing £315. 👏🏻

Miss Pearson is so proud of her wee class. Amazing !
