  📚✍️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Author Visit 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿✍️📚

  We will be hosting a visit from award-winning Scottish author, Stuart Reid on Monday 2nd October 2023.

  Stuart’s first book won the Silver Medal at the Forward National Literature Awards.

  Stuart's books are written to inspire children to read for pleasure. His last book 'Grandpa Jock and the Incredible Iron-Bru-Man Incident' was launched at the Edinburgh Festival, whilst his brand new title, 'Soggy Saturday Sandwich' was released in March 2023.

  Stuart's books may be purchased on the day, all signed by the author, with a personal dedication to each child.

  Book prices are £7 each, two for £12, or a school special offer of four books for £20.

  Our celebration of European languages included a fantastic Euro-snack at breaktime, prepared by some of our PTA members.

  We also enjoyed entertaining lessons in Ulster Scots delivered by Matthew Warwick from the Ulster Scots Agency.

  Our bairns had great 'crack' learning some Scots' words from the 17th Century that are still in use today. 

  It is sad to think that many more Scots' words and phrases have been lost to the passage of time.

  🇲🇦 DISASTERS' APPEAL 🇱🇾 

  £500 collected this morning through our non-uniform day for Morocco 🇲🇦 and Libya 🇱🇾. 

  Further donations will be accepted on Monday morning .

  This included £17.50 raised by some of our Year 6 girls who made and sold bracelets to their classmates.

  This week's magnificent Moneyrea Marvels and some children who gained their Growth Mindset certificates.

  It was great to welcome Mark back to assembly this morning and to learn about God's love. ❤️
