π² FOREST π³ SCHOOL π²
Caoimhe from Forest Schools visited Yr3 today. We spent all the morning learning outdoors. We found out more about birds, trees and camouflage and finally we made some land art out of scavenged materials. More fun due on Wednesday with den-building! Can't wait!
Nursery enjoyed a brilliant visit from David and his animals as part of our pet topic.
We met lots of unusual pets! Snakes, a hedgehog, a chinchilla, a millipede, a rabbit, a bearded dragon and a turtle π’ π¦ π π
Pupils of the Week and Pug of the Week!
As you will know one of the strongest mitigations against Covid transmission is good ventilation. However, as a consequence classrooms may be colder particularly during the winter.
Consequently our pupils may continue to wear tracksuit bottoms and track shoes until half term.
We ask that they continue to wear school polos and sweatshirts.
In addition, they may wear a school hoodie or a coat in class if they are cold.
Hope this is helpful.

As of today, 05/01/22, the Department of Health NI has adopted a new approach to Covid-19 testing.
If you return a +ve LFT it is now assumed that you have Covid and are potentially infectious.
If you return a +ve LFT you must isolate for seven days.
You may only return to school/work when you return two -ve LFTs on days 6 and 7.
+ve LFT results should be reported online to assist the PHA with contact tracing.
+VE LFTs MUST ALSO BE REPORTED TO THE SCHOOL.
You are no longer required to take a PCR test.
Applications for pre-school and primary places open from Monday 10 January.
Our admissions criteria have been published on the school and EA websites.
Unfortunately, we are not holding Open Days or Viewings this year. However, there are two videos on the Moneyrea TV section of the school website that will be helpful:
'A day in the life of Moneyrea Nursery' and 'A taste of life at Moneyrea'
There are also any amount of posts on our website and Facebook that should give a taster of life in our wee school.
