Our YR6 Class enjoyed their first badminton session with Coach Johnny from Ulster Badminton. They played games, had races and were shown how to hold the racquet and serve during the 45 minute session. Everyone had a great time learning new skills and our coach praised our brilliant children for their superb effort, application and behaviour. We can’t wait until next week!
Nursery had a great time with Jo Jingles this morning!
We will be celebrating the 20th Birthday of EDL on Wednesday 29th September.
We will be joined by our Spanish teacher, Jaunita and are asking the children and staff to dress up to represent other European Nationalities.
We will have prizes on the day for the most original costumes in each class.
During the day our lessons will be themed around languages and the children will enjoy a European themed break.
We are asking for a donation of £1 towards the cost of the day.
Congratulations to former Moneyrea pupil Erin Young, now At Grosvenor Grammar, who was recently selected as a member of the Ulster Under 21 Netball Squad.
Erin began her netball career at Moneyrea and was a key member of a very successful Moneyrea team, winning league and cup gold medals 🏅
Erin, who plays goalkeeper/ goal defence for Grosvenor as well as Belfast Ladies Netball Club, was selected following trials held in July, from which some two hundred hopefuls were cut down to a final squad of just thirty players.
Erin’s selection is a particularly impressive achievement given that she is still aged just sixteen.
Erin will now be busy participating in training sessions with the Ulster squad – focusing on gym, court and strength and conditioning.
Well done to Erin on this fantastic accomplishment – all at Moneyrea and Grosvenor are incredibly proud of your achievements and look forward to following your progress over the coming season and beyond.
