Christmas @ Moneyrea

Christmas is an important time in our school calendar as we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. It is also an important time for our charity and PTA fundraising. This post provides a little information about a busy month ahead.

SANTA RUN

On Friday 1 December we are taking part in the Daily Mile
Santa Run to help raise funds for our chosen Christmas
charities:

The RVH Liver Group and The Heartbeat Foundation.

We are asking the children to come to school dressed in Christmas jumpers, or as Santas or elves, or reindeer or anything Christmassy. At 10.00am the whole school (inc. Nursery) will complete a daily mile (walk or jog) around the grounds of the Community Centre. Parents and family are welcome to join us.

We are also asking each child to bring a small donation towards our Christmas charities.

WE NEED YOUR HELP ....

We would ask parents if they can help us in any of the following ways:

• Ballot Prizes for our Christmas Draw

Do you have contacts with local businesses or family members who might provide a prize?

• Christmas hamper items

• Pre-loved toys, games, jigsaws, and children’s books.

Must be in very good condition – these will be offered on sale to parents prior to the sale – more info to follow.
(Please send items into school by Thursday 30 November)

PTA CHRISTMAS SALE

Our Christmas Sale is a very popular event and takes place on Friday 8 December @ 2.00pm in Moneyreagh Community Centre

For the Christmas Sale we are asking each class to contribute the following items:

• Nursery ..... 5 chocolate items for our chocolate tombola stall

• Years 1 – 3 ..... 5 wrapped gifts, labelled Boy or Girl for lucky dip stall. Gifts should be around the value of £1.

• Year 4 ..... New Christmas tree decorations and wrapping paper etc.

• Years 5 & 6 ..... Bottles (Juice, Shloer, wine, Coca Cola, toiletries,
 sauces etc.)

• Year 7 ..... Christmas food & Fayre – home bakes, shortbread, Christmas cake, pudding, yule log, mince pies

Please send items for the sale into school on Wednesday 6 December.

We also need general donations of home baking, traybakes, cakes, mince pies and Christmas Fayre from everyone.

Set up for the Fair begins at 9.00am on the 8 December. If you can help out, please contact Nicola (0796 6019 575) or Debbie (02890 448 443).

Please note: school finishes at 1.55pm on the Friday 8 December and all pupils will assemble outside the Community Centre to await Santa’s arrival. We hope Santa will arrive at 2.00pm and the sale will commence in the main hall when Santa makes his way to his Grotto.

To ease congestion, we will be entering the main hall via the emergency exit doors and not the main entrance.

There will be opportunity for the children to visit Santa and to have their face and nails painted, tattoos etc. Santa’s Grotto will be upstairs, and tea and coffee will be available in the conference room downstairs.

Please note visits to Santa (£5) should be pre-booked using the booking slip and returned to school asap with payment. This price includes visit to Santa’s Grotto, photograph, and selection box.

After School Club is available on the 8th. Permission must be received for ASC leaders to take ASC children to the Christmas Fair.

We will be sending home our Christmas Ballot sheet during the week commencing 4 December, with the draw being made on the last day of school. If you can provide a prize or can ask a local
