HUDDLESTON COMPETITION

We are holding a poetry writing competition for our Year 4 - 7 pupils to celebrate the bicenteenary of the birth of Moneyrea poet, Robert Huddleston.

The theme for the poetry competition is the countryside. Poems must be the original work of the children and the closing date for entries is Friday 4th April.

Judging will take place over the next few days and the winner will be announced before Friday the 11th.

First prize is an amazing iPad Mini. Happy scribing!

Below are photographs of his house, workshop and lane, his granddaughter Bessie, one of his poems, the school in Moneyrea (the cherry tree in the church grounds is where this school once stood, a street bowl (bullet) and his headstone.
