Tree Investigation

Primary Six identified trees in the school grounds by looking at leaf litter and twigs. Then they found the age of the tree by measuring the girth of the trunk and doing a few calculations. Next the children had to investigate how to find the height of a tree by experimenting with various methods. This included estimating, using trigonometry, using a ratio stick and using a clinometer.
