MONEYREA PRIMARY SCHOOL                                                 21 OCTOBER 2014

SCHOOL COUNCIL

Elections to our new School Council took place today in the school hall. Four representatives will be elected from each class (Years 4 – 7). Results will be announced on Friday.

MULTI SENSORY AREA     Children learn in different ways; some like pictures to help them, some listen easily, some like to touch and others need to move around. As part of our aim to help all of our pupils develop skills in literacy, each class has a designated table where pupils, of all abilities, can practise their spelling etc. using a range of tactile and visual materials. This is a small positive step to help promote the learning of all our pupils.

Congratulations to Reuben Savage on gaining a silver medal in the Ulster PS Swimming Championships for the 50m Back Crawl. Reuben also finished 4th in the Butterfly and has qualified for the Irish Championships in Limerick. Super job, Reuben! Congratulations to Cameron McCaughey on finishing second in the Co. Down Primary Schools Cross Country Meet at Downpatrick. An outstanding effort Cameron!

WINE & CHEESE     Tickets are now available for our annual PTA Wine & Cheese evening. This event has proved extremely popular over years and provides a really great night’s craic, raising funds for the school whilst raising a glass. The night should not be confused with stuffy wine tastings and as well as tasting six wines, will include cocktail capers, canapés and beer for those who prefer the hop to the grape. Come along with your friends, you won’t be disappointed!
