Our Year 5s headed off to Killyleagh this morning for their annual residential.
Thirty excited pupils, accompanied by Camp Commandant, Miss Anderson and her able Lieutenants, Miss Lavery and Miss Finlay.
With the sun splitting the trees (If that were possible?) and the children assigned their rooms and waterproofs, they pulled on their wellies and bright yellow helmets and headed off for an adventure walk through Tollymore Forest. Up hills, across hedges, through briars, over rivers, through streams, under bridges, through culverts, up to their necks in mud and glar and it was great!
Suitably fatigued the children relaxed over a carb-laden tea before heading out for an evening vist to the cinema in Downpatrick to watch, 'Escape From Planet Earth'.
After a good night's sleep ....(NOT!) .... the children awoke to the sound of the Strangford seagulls swooping over the glassy waters of the Lough.
