Primary 7 at Sports Day

Primary 7 at Sports Day 1

P7s are 'The Business'

Our Yr 7s were “the business” today when they saw off some very stiff competition from the five other regional winners to be crowned Young Enterprise Business Beginnings winners 2016.

They had a great day at W5, where five of the managers gave a very professional presentation (complete with song and dance routine), on their business, Keyching.

This was followed by a great science demo by Sci-Five and time to unwind, after lunch, at the new dinosaur exhibition and the permanent exhibitions on the second floor.

A big thank you to Young Enterprise for their support throughout the year and to the class of 2016 for doing us proud once again. You will be missed!

Rugby Coaching at Campbell College

Moneyrea's Rugby Squad were given the opportunity to receive some coaching at Campbell College. The boys had a coaching session with Ex Ireland and Ulster player Brian Robinson alongside current Ulster star, Rory Scholes. The boys had a great day and really enjoyed their session.

Girls' Great Win Against Orangefield

Moneyrea Girls' Netball Team recently played a game against Orangefield Primary.

Early signs in the game were not good as Orangefield raced into a 5-0 lead. All looked lost until a fabulous fight back saw Moneyrea run out 8-5 winners! Well done girls.

Moneyrea's Business Leaders of Tomorrow

Last week pupils from Moneyrea Primary School travelled to Bow Street Mall to take part in the Lisburn and Castlereagh heat of the Young Enterprise Competition.

Their business idea impressed the judges enough to win the competition. They will now progress to the South Eastern Region Final which will be held at W5. We wish them good luck in the finals.

India

Under our topic heading 'India', we have been looking at Hindu Art. During the festival of Diwali, Hindus decorate their homes and outside areas with Rangoli, drawn in chalk. P7 created some of their own Rangoli in coloured chalk in the playground. Let's hope they bring us some good fortune!
